Yahoo axis

This week Yahoo launched a browser extension called Axis, which it says is "A new way to search and browse the web" . This is basically Yahoo's trail to get into business which has been on a downhill from many quarters. It isn't a complete browser but an extension, available for all browsers.
Now the question comes to speed and USP and whether this can beat the rest in browser business. To an extent yes, Yahoo has cleverly developed this as an extension rather than a completely new browser when it comes to desktops but has differentiated  substantially for mobile and Ipad downloads. The Axis is a separate browser when it comes to mobile devices.
I certainly liked it for the following features :

There are two bookmarks one is called "read it later" and another is the usual bookmark. An extremely good thing about this bookmark feature is its image search or visual representation of those bookmarks. It certainly makes it easy and interesting to go through and search the bookmarks using images rather than plane and boring links .
The search is fast and even that shows up results in images, rather than blue links. It makes the page more appealing.
After installation a small bar appears on the bottom left corner
of the browser and as the pointer is placed on it it enlarges
and becomes this :)

The star button will make the page bookmarked and home button will take you to the home page and Yahoo button takes you to home page of Yahoo
Another remarkable feature is the cross platform coordination of the browser. You are viewing a page on your browser and suddenly you shift to Ipad , you can start viewing the same page from the point you left it on your desktop. This is the most WOW!!  feature which our leading browsers lack till now .

The only point i disliked is that its still not a complete browser for desktop but i think depending upon the feedback and number of users installing the extension the decision might change. As of now Yahoo is in right path!!

This is the official description from Yahoo :
